Here is a portion of the emails I received from corporate:
Mark,
Our engineer just informed us that the new plat that we need here has to reflect both the lot we’re about to purchase and the adjoiner lot (the doctors lot).
The Land Surveyor has indicated that both property owners (FRG and the doctor) will need to sign. We cannot force the doctor to sign, but it is the path of least resistance.
Issue now is that we (or any buyer) cannot proceed with obtaining a new plat that is required unless the doctor signs off on the plat.
