MCRE, LLC has a new intern.

 Meet Dillon Wilhite

OVERVIEW

 
An invited walk on who will provide depth at the four and five spots … Was a redshirt on Kansas’ 2022 NCAA Naitonal Championship team … Played two sports – basketball and volleyball – in high school … Comes from an athletic family as his sisters play volleyball at Georgetown, his father, who grew up in Lawrence, played golf at TCU and he has three cousins who played college football and an aunt who played college golf.

HIGH SCHOOL


Played for Will Cunningham at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego … In 2020-21, Wilhite averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds per game for the Dons who were 17-3 and finished second in the San Diego City Conference tournament … As a senior, was a 2021 all-league first-team selection for the Western League … Cathedral Catholic won two CIF San Diego titles his junior and senior seasons … Was the starting middle blocked on the Cathedral Catholic volleyball team where the team won the CIF San Diego Division I championship … A member of the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic Team and the Principal’s Honor Roll. Was active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes throughout high school.

Full name is Dillon Bradley Wilhite … Born in Encinitas, California … Parents are Brad and Carrie Wilhite … Has two older sisters, Brennan and Peyton, who both play volleyball at Georgetown … Father, who grew up in Lawrence, played college golf at TCU … Aunt, Kim Wilhite Falcone played golf at Missouri … Has three cousins who played college/pro football – Brent Brennan (UCLA), Brad Brennan (Arizona), Colt Brennan (Hawaii and Washington Redskins) … Brent Brennan is the head football coach at San Jose State University … Grandmother, Joanie Wilhite Stephens, has worked at Kansas Athletics for 37 years, including 24 years in the men’s basketball office … Enjoys photography, surfing, golf and travel … Still plays beach volleyball … As a youth, attended numerous Kansas Bill Self Basketball Camps … Business administration major.
