I love KC = Sherman W. Dreiseszun was a great deal maker [#mcre1]

Henry McClure @ MD Management

January 1997 – December 1997
Leasing Manager | Overland Park, KS
In 1997, Sherman W. Dreiseszun threw me the opportunity of a lifetime—a chance to carve my name into the Kansas City commercial real estate scene—and I seized it with both hands. As Leasing Manager at MD Management, I took the reins of four major shopping centers and personally oversaw operations for one, managing a jaw-dropping 3.3 million square feet of prime retail space. This wasn’t just a job; it was a proving ground, and I delivered results that turned heads.
Here’s what I tackled:
  • Portfolio Powerhouse: Drove leasing efforts across four heavy-hitting properties:
    • East Hills Mall (St. Joseph, MO)—where I didn’t just lease but also managed day-to-day operations with precision.
    • Metro North Mall (Kansas City, MO)—a bustling hub I kept thriving.
    • Metcalf South Mall (Overland Park, KS)—right in my backyard, I made it shine.
    • Southwyck Mall (Toledo, OH)—proof my reach stretched far and wide.
  • Leasing Wins: Closed 55,000 square feet of fully executed leases like a champ, with another 31,000 square feet of deals locked, loaded, and in the works. These weren’t just numbers—they were victories that fueled growth.
  • Marketing Muscle: Spearheaded a fresh, high-impact marketing campaign in St. Joseph that didn’t just promote East Hills Mall—it put it on the map. I brought creativity, strategy, and relentless drive to the table, and it paid off.
From negotiating leases to steering operations, I thrived under pressure and made my mark in just 12 months. This gig wasn’t just a stepping stone—it was a launchpad.

This version keeps the energy high, adds more detail, and stretches it out to give a fuller picture of your accomplishments without losing the punch. How’s this feel?

Shopwave.com
April 1996 – January 1997
Ventura, CA
President
I had a vision that shopping on the internet would one day become popular, and my experience founding Shopwave.com was an unparalleled entrepreneurial journey. We built everything from the ground up. I collaborated with a programmer from the Tomahawk missile program who wrote CGI scripts to create a functional shopping cart. Using Cold Fusion, we dynamically generated web pages to display inventory, five items at a time. This was no small task in 1996, when we had to contend with 33-speed dial-up modems. Being an inventor in those early internet days was truly exciting.
Key Achievements:
  • Developed a secure online shopping channel using a state-of-the-art web server. We mastered encryption, fax fulfillment, and order verification to provide safe and reliable ordering for web users, while adding a modern mail-order component for retailers.
  • Created websites, internet office suites, and provided internet consulting services.
  • Launched Shopwave Networks, serving clients such as Alliance BBS, AcenetWeb, and Ventura County Databases.
  • Operated as a computer retailer.
  • Held a minority interest in Fishnet.net, an internet access provider.
Milestone:
Shopwave.com became the first internet company to join the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

The Mall business was fun. #mcre1
