Camp Milton exists to provide children and youth with neuromuscular diseases an accessible and authentic summer camp experience at no cost to the family. In order to understand the importance of this camp, it needs to be witnessed through the eyes of a child who suffers from one of these debilitating diseases. They are told 51 weeks of the year what they can't do, due to their limited mobility. When they are greeted by their counselor at Camp Milton, they are told they can do anything. They get to swim, fish, shoot archery and do so many other daily activities. Plus there are arts and crafts, a talent show and even a dance! But the most important aspect of Camp Milton is they get to be with kids just like them! They develop life-long relationships and build self-confidence and independence in ways they never thought possible. This weeklong summer camp is offered at no charge to families, thanks to all of our donors and sponsors. It is available to children ages 6 to 17 who suffer from neuromuscular diseases.
